Sonshi Surl Water Pipeline of Country’s First Automated Agricultural Supply Project Set Ablaze Again
Bicholim : The water pipeline of the country’s first agricultural water supply project, which delivers water to farmers through an automated system from the mine trench at Sonshi Surl chain, has been set on fire yet again. This ambitious project, which had already faced delays due to similar incidents in the past, is now facing renewed setbacks.
Just a month after its official inauguration and commissioning, the pipeline has been targeted once more. Along with the damage to the infrastructure, the surrounding forest area has also caught fire, raising serious concerns about the safety and security of the project.
Local farmer Vishnu Natekar expressed grave concern over the recurring sabotage and has urged the government to launch a thorough investigation. “The government must find out if this fire was started intentionally and take strict action against the culprits,” said Natekar, demanding accountability and protection for the project that holds immense significance for local farmers.
This repeated vandalism threatens to derail a project that promised to revolutionize agricultural water distribution in the region.
