DIRECTORATE OF FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES ORGANIZES BLOOD DONATION CAMP DURING FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
Panaji : In a noble gesture reflecting its commitment to public service and humanitarian efforts, the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Goa, in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, organized a Blood Donation Camp on April 19, 2025. The event took place at 9:00 AM at the Fire Force Training Centre as a part of Fire Prevention Week activities.
The camp was inaugurated by Shri Nitin V. Raiker, Director of Fire & Emergency Services, in the esteemed presence of senior officials including Shri Rajendra Haldankar, Deputy Director (Fire), Shri Shripad Gawas, Divisional Officer – North Zone (Panaji), Shri Francisco Mendes, Divisional Officer – South Zone (Margao), Shri Bosco Ferrao, Assistant Divisional Officer – North Zone (Panaji), and Dr. Sanjay Korgaonkar, Medical Officer, Blood Bank, GMC.
A total of 60 officers and staff members of the Directorate voluntarily donated blood, showcasing the department’s unwavering dedication not only to fire safety and emergency response but also to vital community welfare initiatives.
This Blood Donation Camp highlighted the Directorate’s broader mission – extending beyond fire emergencies to include compassionate acts of public service that save lives in multiple ways. The initiative stood as a testament to the values of courage, compassion, and social responsibility deeply ingrained in the fire services personnel.
As part of Fire Prevention Week, the Directorate is also conducting various awareness programs, drills, workshops, and educational campaigns across the state. These efforts aim to foster a culture of preparedness and safety among citizens.
