Stresses on Skill Enhancement and Youth Participation : CM Sawant
Bicholim : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant paid a visit to key government institutions in Bicholim, including the Government ITI, Government Polytechnic, and the construction site of the upcoming New Administrative Building. He was accompanied by Mayem MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Bicholim MLA Shri Premendra Shet, and senior government officials.
During his inspection of the ITI and Polytechnic, Dr. Sawant reviewed the ongoing infrastructure and skill development works being carried out under the MoU signed with Tata Technologies. The Chief Minister interacted with faculty and staff, emphasizing the need for greater outreach to the youth in surrounding areas. He directed the institutions to encourage local youth to participate and enroll in skill-based programs aimed at enhancing employability.
He further instructed the Education Department and the Government Polytechnic to upgrade and strengthen their course offerings, with a strong focus on ensuring 100% placements of trained youth in relevant industries.
Later, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of the New Administrative Building, a major infrastructure project set to be completed by 2027. Once completed, the facility is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and delivery of government services across all departments in the Bicholim taluka.
The visit reflects the state government’s continued focus on youth empowerment, education reform, and infrastructure development in North Goa.
