State-Level Cyclone Mock Drill on April 25 in South Goa
Panaji : The South Goa District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in coordination with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Goa, and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), will conduct a State-Level Mock Exercise on Cyclone and Related Disasters on April 25, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The mock drill aims to assess the preparedness and efficiency of emergency response systems in the event of a cyclone. It will involve activation of early warning systems, evacuation drills, and coordination among various response teams.
Designated mock drill sites in South Goa include:
Mormugao Port Authority (within MPA premises)
Goa Shipyard
Vaddem Ground (outside GSL premises)
IOCL and HP Terminals (within IOCL premises)
Baina Beach Area
Chowgule Shipyard
Office of the Mamlatdar of Ponda Taluka
Murdi Bagh, Khandepar, Ponda
Naquerim Betul Panchayat Office (New)
Office of the Talathi, V.P. Naquerim-Betul
The authorities have requested the public to remain calm and not to panic, as this is only a mock exercise intended to ensure disaster readiness and communication efficiency.
