198 Road Accidents Reported in Goa in March 2025 ; 20 Lives Lost
Panaji : The Directorate of Transport has released its monthly report detailing road accident statistics and challans issued for March 2025. According to the report, a total of 198 road accidents were recorded across the state.
The accidents have been categorized as follows:
Fatal Accidents: 20 (North Goa – 12, South Goa – 8)
Grievous Accidents: 18 (North Goa – 8, South Goa – 10)
Minor Accidents: 44 (North Goa – 15, South Goa – 29)
Non-Injury Accidents: 116 (North Goa – 60, South Goa – 56)
Tragically, 20 people lost their lives in these incidents, with 12 deaths reported from North Goa and 8 deaths from South Goa.
Additionally, 24 individuals suffered grievous injuries (12 each from North and South Goa), while 65 people sustained minor injuries (North Goa – 21, South Goa – 44).
A closer look at the fatalities reveals:
12 were riders (North Goa – 5, South Goa – 7)
3 pillion riders (all from North Goa)
5 pedestrians (North Goa – 4, South Goa – 1)
The Directorate continues to urge road users to strictly follow traffic regulations to prevent accidents and ensure road safety.
