St. Sebastian Sports Club Clinches Victory in Thrilling Tie-Breaker Against Calangute Association
Calangute : In a pulsating quarter-final showdown, St. Sebastian Sports Club edged out Calangute Association in a nail-biting penalty shootout (6-5), after both teams ended regular time in a stalemate.
Calangute Association dominated the proceedings for most of the game, consistently pressuring the opposition and creating multiple scoring chances. However, their inability to find the back of the net proved costly as St. Sebastian’s disciplined defense held firm.
The encounter eventually progressed to a dramatic tie-breaker, where St. Sebastian held their nerve and sealed the win by a single-goal margin. Edwin Viegas, who delivered a commanding performance throughout the match, was declared Man of the Match and was awarded the Edwin Viegas Trophy, presented by Mr. Filipe Dias, former Vice President of Calangute Association.
