Paid Holiday on May 11 for Bye-Election

Panaji: The Government of Goa has declared Sunday, May 11, 2025, as a paid holiday in view of the polling day for the bye-elections in the following wards:

Ward No. I, Village Panchayat Tivim

Ward No. VII, Village Panchayat Assonora (both in Bardez Taluka, North Goa District)

Ward No. I, Village Panchayat Chicalim (Mormugao Taluka, South Goa District)

The paid holiday applies to:

Industrial workers in Goa

Daily wage workers of government and state industrial departments

Commercial and industrial workers of private establishments

Workers of all private establishments, businesses, trades, and industrial undertakings

Daily wage/casual workers in any establishment

Workers of institutions covered under the explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881

This ensures that all eligible voters in the mentioned wards can participate in the democratic process.
