MLA Krishna Salkar Inaugurates Road Widening and Culvert Construction Project Near Taniya Hotel
Vasco: MLA Krishna Salkar recently inaugurated the commencement of a crucial infrastructure project involving the construction of new culverts and the widening of the road near Taniya Hotel. The event was held in the presence of Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Shri Girish Borkar, Councillors Shami Salkar, Deepak Naik, Amey Chopdekar, and several local residents.
The project aims to address long-standing drainage issues that have caused frequent waterlogging in the area during heavy rainfall. The construction of new culverts will significantly enhance the stormwater drainage capacity, reducing the risk of flooding and improving road usability during monsoon seasons.
Simultaneously, the road widening work is being undertaken to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic flow due to the upcoming railway underpass. This move is expected to not only ease vehicular congestion but also boost safety and overall traffic efficiency in the locality.
Speaking at the event, MLA Salkar emphasized the importance of proactive infrastructure development, stating that the project is designed to meet both current needs and future demands. He highlighted that improving drainage systems and expanding road capacity are vital steps toward ensuring a safer and more functional transport network for residents.
