Minister Mauvin Godinho Reviews Draft of Revamped Umbrella Scheme for Goa’s Industrial Growth
Panaji : In a significant move towards fostering inclusive and resilient industrial development in the state, Industries Minister Shri Mauvin Godinho chaired a high-level meeting today to review and refine the draft proposal of the revamped Umbrella Scheme. The comprehensive framework aims to streamline support mechanisms for Goa’s industries and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The revised scheme places a renewed emphasis on key areas such as employment generation, environmental sustainability, and the empowerment of women-led enterprises. It is designed to align with current policy priorities while enhancing the ease of doing business and ensuring impactful implementation across sectors.
“The Umbrella Scheme will be a transformative step in supporting our entrepreneurial ecosystem, especially MSMEs, which form the backbone of Goa’s economy,” said Minister Godinho, underscoring the importance of a holistic approach that integrates diverse stakeholder perspectives.
Present at the session were Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (Industries); Shri Asvin Chandru A., IAS, Director, Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC); Pratik Porob, Deputy Director (Admin), DITC; Mrs. Geeta Joshi, Planning Officer, DITC; Ms. Sneha Suman and Mr. Abhishek, Consultants from the RAMP team; Ms. Ethel Nunes, Officer on Special Duty; and Mr. Ajay Thorat, Private Secretary.
The deliberations focused on refining the scheme’s objectives to better serve Goa’s industrial landscape and ensure robust implementation mechanisms. Inputs from all attendees will be integrated into the final version of the scheme, which is poised to be a key enabler of Goa’s economic vision.
