Dr. Ambedkar English High School Hosts Unveiling Ceremony of Tathagat Lord Buddha’s Statue on 2569th Buddha Jayanti
Mapusa, Goa | May 12, 2025 – Dr. Ambedkar English High School, Kucheli, Bardez, Goa, celebrated the 2569th Buddha Jayanti with reverence and grandeur, marking the occasion with the unveiling ceremony of a statue of Tathagat Lord Buddha.
The ceremony commenced at 10:30 a.m. in the presence of students, parents, teachers, and community members. The statue was unveiled by Ayu. Bharati Akhargekar, President of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Educational Society (D.B.E.S.), Duler, Mapusa, Goa.
The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Dhammachari Dnyandarshi, Chairman of the Triratna Bauddha Mahasangh (T.B.M.S.), Goa, Dr. Tarak Arolkar, along with several respected members of the Dhamma community including Dhammacharis, Dhammacharinis, Upasakas, Upasikas, Dhammamitras, and Dhammasahayyaks.
The school’s management team including Ayu. Jayesh Akhargekar (Chairman), Ayu. Chetan Kubal (Headmaster), and Ayu. N.G. Akhargekar (Manager), along with Ayu. Suresh Parsekar, Vice President of Yugnayak, Goa, played key roles in organizing the event.
Speaking on the occasion, speakers emphasized the significance of Lord Buddha’s teachings in today’s world and how his message of peace, wisdom, and compassion continues to inspire generations. The statue installation was hailed as a symbol of enlightenment and an inspiration for students to follow the path of Dhamma.
The event concluded with cultural performances and a message of harmony and unity, echoing the belief: “The name of Buddha in the world is the glory of India.”
