Civil Services Chess Championship to Be Held in Goa from May 21 to 30
Panaji : The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, in collaboration with the Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board, will host the All India Civil Services Chess Championship from May 21 to May 30, 2025 at Bhausaheb Bandodkar Krida Sankool, Peddem, Mapusa.
This national-level chess tournament is expected to witness participation from around 35 men’s teams and 32 women’s teams representing various States, Union Territories, and Civil Services Regional Sports Boards. Over 500 athletes will compete, showcasing their strategic skills and chess acumen.
The men’s category tournament holds FIDE rating status, and the event is officially recognized by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and the All India Chess Federation (AICF), making it a significant milestone for civil service athletes across the country.
As the host state, Goa has finalized its Civil Services Chess Team following a rigorous Pre-National Coaching Camp conducted under the guidance of a professional chess coach.
The Directorate invites the general public, students, sports enthusiasts, and chess lovers to witness and support this grand celebration of intellect and strategy.
