Campaign on Welfare Schemes for Tribal Communities to be Held from June 15 to 30

Panaji : A comprehensive awareness and service delivery campaign will be conducted across South Goa District from June 15 to 30, 2025, to promote key Government of India initiatives aimed at the holistic development of tribal communities.

The campaign will focus on two flagship programmes:

1. Pradhan Mantri Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN)

2. Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA)

These initiatives bring together 25 targeted interventions through the convergence of 17 central ministries, covering 26 States and 4 Union Territories to bridge development gaps in tribal areas.

The Office of the Collector, South Goa District, has urged all eligible citizens in the district to actively participate and avail the benefits of these welfare schemes.

Key services to be delivered through village and cluster-level camps include:

Aadhar Card enrolment

Ration Card issuance

Ayushman Bharat health card

Caste Certificates

PM-KISAN registration

Jan Dhan Yojana account opening

The basic amenities and services being targeted under DAJGUA include:

Pucca houses for all (Sabko Pucca Ghar)

Tap water connection in every home (Har Ghar Nal Se Jal)

Road connectivity to every village (Gaon-Gaon Tak Sadak)

Solar-powered electricity for every home (Har Ghar Bijli)

Hostels for tribal students

Mobile Medical Units for remote villages

Ayushman Bharat health coverage

Free LPG connections

Poshan and Poshan Vatikas (nutrition gardens)

Mobile network access in remote areas

Skill development training (Kaushal Vikas)

Digital empowerment initiatives

Sustainable agricultural practices

PM Matsya Sampada Yojana (for fisheries)

National Livestock Mission

Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA)

Swadesh Darshan (tourism development)

Multi-purpose marketing centres

Tribal residential schools, Ashram schools and hostels

Centres of Competency for Sickle Cell Anaemia

Implementation of the Forest Rights Act, 2006

The campaign aims to ensure saturation of services and infrastructure in tribal areas through targeted interventions. This transformative initiative is a reaffirmation of India’s commitment to empowering tribal communities, bridging critical development gaps, and fostering inclusive and sustainable growth.
