Directorate of Transport Releases Road Accident Statistics for April 2025
Panaji : The Directorate of Transport has released its monthly report detailing road accident statistics and traffic enforcement actions for the month of April 2025.
According to the report, a total of 198 road accidents occurred across Goa during the month. These included:
24 Fatal Accidents (12 in North Goa and 12 in South Goa)
15 Grievous Accidents (7 in North Goa and 8 in South Goa)
43 Minor Accidents (13 in North Goa and 30 in South Goa)
116 Non-Injury Accidents (51 in North Goa and 65 in South Goa)
The total number of lives lost in road accidents stood at 26, with 12 fatalities in North Goa and 14 in South Goa. Additionally,
17 persons sustained grievous injuries (8 in North Goa and 9 in South Goa), and
76 persons suffered minor injuries (18 in North Goa and 58 in South Goa).
Among the deceased,
17 were riders (9 in North Goa and 8 in South Goa),
4 were pillion riders (all in South Goa), and
5 were pedestrians (3 in North Goa and 2 in South Goa).
The Directorate continues to monitor and enforce traffic regulations and urges all road users to follow safety norms strictly to reduce accidents and save lives.
