Trainees from National Fire Service College Complete Attachment Program in Goa

Panaji, Goa | The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Goa, successfully concluded a first-of-its-kind Practical Attachment Program for ten fourth-year B.Tech (Engineering) trainees from the National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur, under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The program ran from April 1 to May 15, 2025, offering a comprehensive 45-day technical exposure.

The initiative included 30 days of station duties at Panaji Fire Station and Fire Force Headquarters, followed by 15 days of field exposure at high-risk occupancy sites such as industrial units, malls, high-rise buildings, hospitals, and hotels. This immersive program marked the first structured attachment of its kind hosted in Goa, underlining the Directorate’s focus on professional development and modernization of fire services.

The Valedictory Function, held on May 15, was graced by Shri Nitin Raiker, Director of the Directorate, as Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Shri Shripad Gawas, Divisional Officer (North Zone), and Shri Pundalik Parab, Deputy Director (Administration).

Addressing the gathering, Shri Raiker lauded the trainees’ dedication and highlighted the value of hands-on experience in enhancing operational readiness. He urged the participants to apply and share their newly acquired knowledge in future assignments and reaffirmed the Directorate’s commitment to capacity building, inter-agency collaboration, and fire safety excellence.

Shri Rupesh Sawant, Station Fire Officer, conducted the valedictory session, while Shri Shripad Gawas delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the enthusiasm of the NFSC trainees and the efforts of all supporting teams and institutions.

The Directorate expressed its intent to scale up such collaborative programs, aiming to contribute meaningfully to India’s evolving fire and emergency service infrastructure.
