Calangute Police Crack Car Theft Case, Arrest Three Accused
Calangute : In a swift and coordinated operation, Calangute Police have successfully cracked a car theft case and arrested three individuals involved in stealing a vehicle from an open parking lot in Baga, Calangute.
The incident occurred between 8:40 PM on January 23, 2025, and 10:00 AM on January 24, 2025. The stolen vehicle, bearing registration number KA-22-MC-6241, was reported missing by the owner, Channa Basappa Waggara.
Acting promptly on the complaint, a police team led by ASI Satish Sawant, with assistance from local law enforcement and the complainant Dayanand Hiremath, launched an investigation that led them to Belgaum, Karnataka. The accused were identified as:
Maruti S/o Suresh Jantikatti, 26, resident of Belgaum, Karnataka
Kishore Dharmendra Rangarej, 28, resident of Belgaum, Karnataka
Abdul Aziz S/o Shahabuddin Majawar, 26, resident of Belgaum, Karnataka
The stolen car was successfully recovered from Belgaum. The case is being further investigated under the guidance of PI Paresh Naik, SDPO Vishwesh Kharpe, and North Goa SP Rahul Gupta.
The operation highlights the effectiveness of inter-state police coordination and the dedication of the Calangute Police in solving the case promptly, bringing much-needed relief to the vehicle’s owner.
