Minister Mauvin Godinho Inaugurates New 100 KVA Transformer Centre at Cantor, Bogmalo
Bogmalo: In a major boost to local power infrastructure, Minister Mauvin Godinho inaugurated a new 100 KVA Plinth Mounted Distribution Transformer Centre at Cantor, Bogmalo. This much-awaited project aims to address the long-standing issue of low voltage faced by residents in Cantor Wado, Bogmalo Panchayat, Bogmalo Beach, and the Chicolna Church area.
With an investment of ₹35.15 lakhs, the transformer centre is a significant step towards ensuring a stable and reliable power supply to the region. Minister Godinho expressed his appreciation for the swift and efficient execution of the project by the Electricity Department, especially AE Shri Vikram Karekar and his dedicated team.
A special acknowledgment was extended to Shri Jorge Noronha Ferreira for his generous contribution of land, which made the establishment of the transformer centre possible.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sarpanch of VP Chicolna-Bogmalo Shri Sankalp N Mahale, Dy. Sarpanch Smt. Lorena Cunha, Dy. Sarpanch of VP Chicalim Smt. Aishwarya Korgaonkar, and Panch Members Shri Antonio Fernandes, Shri Caetano Figueiredo, Smt. Aishwarya Thorat, and Smt. Cynthiya Rodrigues. Also present were Shri Brahma Pawar, OSD Shri Nehal Keni, Smt. Marida Mesta, Shri Sachin Chowgule, Shri Tulsidas Patekar, and Shri Jorge Noronha Ferreira.
The project reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure development and improving the quality of life for citizens in the region.
