Goa’s Public Transport Gets a Digital Upgrade: KTCL Smart Cards Now Accepted on Mhaji Buses
Panaji : In a major step towards modernizing Goa’s public transport system, the state government has integrated the Mhaji bus service with the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL)’s smart card system. Commuters can now use their KTCL smart cards and passes on Mhaji buses, making travel across different services more convenient and efficient.
KTCL’s Managing Director, Shri Rohan J. Kaskar, confirmed the development, highlighting the digital shift as part of the state’s broader vision to enhance connectivity and commuter experience. “The integration of KTCL smart cards with Mhaji buses is a leap forward in our efforts to deliver seamless and secure travel solutions to the people of Goa,” he stated.
This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of daily passengers by providing a unified, cashless ticketing option that simplifies fare payments and reduces wait times. It also supports the government’s aim to promote safer, more accessible public transport for both residents and tourists.
Officials believe the partnership between KTCL and Mhaji marks a significant advancement in Goa’s public transport modernization, paving the way for further digital innovations in mobility services.
