Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza Inspects Road Widening and Repair Work in Mapusa
Mapusa, Goa: Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza inspected the ongoing road repair, widening, and hot-mixing work along the stretch from Gandhi Circle to Shree Bodgeshwar Temple in Mapusa.
The project, which had initially commenced last year, faced delays due to legal constraints. However, with those issues now resolved, work on the critical infrastructure upgrade has resumed.
The current phase of the project includes the construction of the base layer and side drains. The hot-mixing component will be undertaken post-monsoon, following final corrections and preparatory work.
Speaking during the inspection, MLA D’Souza reiterated his commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the project for the convenience and safety of Mapusa residents. “This stretch is vital for local traffic, and we are working to upgrade it to modern standards,” he said.
Accompanying the Deputy Speaker during the inspection were Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Smt Priya Mishal, Councillor Shri Sushant Harmalkar, BJP Karyakarta Shri Balu Warang, PWD Roads Assistant Engineer Shri Sequeira, Junior Engineer Shri Saish, and the project contractor.
