The distress alert from the Kochi-bound vessel was received on 24 May, prompting immediate action from maritime authorities. The Indian Navy deployed two ships in the region to bolster rescue efforts, working in close coordination with the Indian Coast Guard, the International Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR), Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai, and other relevant agencies.

The situation continues to be closely monitored, with all stakeholders actively assessing developments to ensure safety and maritime security in the area.

The successful rescue underscores the Indian Navy’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding lives at sea and enhancing coordination among national and international maritime partners.
