Minister Rane Engages with CDPOs and Anganwadi Workers to Enhance Women and Child Welfare Programs
Panjim : In a significant move to strengthen grassroots initiatives for women and children, Minister for Women and Child Development Vishwajeet Rane addressed Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and Anganwadi workers at the Directorate of Women and Child Development’s head office in Panjim today.
During the interaction, the Minister emphasized the vital role Anganwadi workers play in community welfare and announced steps to further empower them. He said that the government will introduce more vibrant and interactive teaching modules at Anganwadi centres to boost the cognitive development of children.
The meeting also focused on critical issues such as maternal and child nutrition, especially challenges faced by pregnant and lactating women. Minister Rane assured that these concerns will be addressed through targeted interventions and improved access to essential health services.
To ensure continuous improvement and effective policy implementation, the Minister announced that monthly review meetings will be held regularly. “Understanding the ground realities faced by Anganwadi workers is crucial. They are the backbone of our welfare initiatives,” Rane stated.
The Department reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every child receives adequate nutrition and that women have access to the necessary welfare benefits and healthcare support.
