UPSC Launches New Online Application Portal for Exams
New Delhi : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new Online Application Portal aimed at streamlining the application process for various UPSC examinations. The portal, effective from May 28, 2025, replaces the previous One Time Registration (OTR) system and can be accessed at https://upsconline.nic.in.
The redesigned portal is divided into four key components displayed as separate cards on the homepage:
1. Account Creation
2. Universal Registration
3. Common Application Form (CAF)
4. Examination Module
The first three sections can be filled at any time and store information common to all exams, enabling candidates to prepare in advance and avoid last-minute rush. The Examination section includes specific exam notifications, application forms, and status tracking, and is to be filled only during the active application period for each exam.
Applicants are now required to register afresh on the new portal and upload all relevant documents anew, as the old OTR data will not carry forward.
For faster and seamless ID verification, UPSC strongly recommends using Aadhaar Card in the Universal Registration module. Aadhaar-based details will serve as a permanent ID record across all future UPSC exams.
The portal’s launch coincides with the release of notifications for CDS Exam-II 2025 and NDA & NA Exam-II 2025, both of which will now accept applications only through the new system.
