BHASHA PURASKAR ANNOUNCED FOR THREE YEARS
Panaji : The Directorate of Official Language has announced the recipients of the prestigious Bhasha Puraskar for the last three years—2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025—in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of Konkani and Marathi languages.
For the Konkani Bhasha Puraskar, instituted in the name of Dnyanpeeth Awardee Ravindra Kelekar, the awards have been conferred as follows:
2022-2023: Shri Manikrao Ram Nayak Gaunekar
2023-2024: Shri Suresh Ramchandra Pai
2024-2025: Shri Bhiku Bomi Naik
For the Marathi Bhasha Puraskar, named after renowned writer B. D. Satoskar, the following have been selected:
2022-2023: Shri Shambhu Bhau Bandekar
2023-2024: Shri Anil Gajanan Samant
2024-2025: Shri Ramesh D. Onskar
A committee of language experts, appointed by the Government, evaluated numerous nominations received by the Directorate and selected the awardees for their lifelong efforts in enriching Konkani and Marathi literature.
The Bhasha Puraskar Yojana, implemented by the Directorate of Official Language, aims to honour such exemplary individuals whose work has significantly contributed to the preservation and growth of regional languages. The initiative also seeks to inspire younger generations by showcasing the dedication of these literary stalwarts.
The awards will be presented by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant at a special ceremony scheduled to be held on May 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji.
