Proactive Nullah Cleaning Drive Prevents Flooding in Vasco: MLA Krishna Daji Salkar
Vasco: In a remarkable display of coordination and preparedness, Vasco has once again remained flood-free despite the early and heavy monsoon showers this year. Local MLA Krishna Daji Salkar credited the success to a proactive and intensive nullah cleaning operation undertaken across the city.
Personally overseeing the operations, MLA Salkar lauded the relentless efforts of the Water Resources Department (WRD) and the municipal staff, many of whom worked overtime to ensure the safety of Vasco’s residents.
“I am extremely happy that Vasco has not experienced any flooding this year as well, despite the incessant early rains,” Salkar said. “This was made possible due to the timely cleaning of nullahs and effective teamwork.”
MLA Salkar extended his gratitude to WRD Minister Shri Subhash Shirodkar for prioritizing flood prevention and making a personal call to emphasize the importance of minimizing public inconvenience—even if it meant additional effort.
“This proactive approach truly reflects the BJP Goa government’s commitment to the welfare of its people,” he added.
Salkar also thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant for his unwavering support towards various development initiatives in Vasco.
Additionally, he acknowledged the contributions of MMC Chairperson Shri Girish Borkar, Chief Officer Shri Siddhivinayak Naik, Mamlatdar Shri Pravinjay Pandit, Deputy Collector Shri Bhagwant Karmali, and the municipal staff for their collective efforts in preventing any flood-related incidents.
“Their coordinated efforts have made this achievement possible, and I extend heartfelt thanks to every individual who played a role,” Salkar concluded.
