CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Reviews Developmental Works and Civic Issues in Mapusa
Mapusa, Goa – Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant convened a high-level review meeting at the Mapusa Municipal Council to assess ongoing development works and address key civic issues in the town. The meeting was held in the presence of Hon’ble MLA and Deputy Speaker Shri Joshua De Souza, Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council Smt. Priya Mishal, Municipal Councillors, North Goa Collector Shri Ankit Yadav, Chief Officer, officials from the Public Works Department, and other concerned authorities.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister conducted a comprehensive review of pre-monsoon preparedness, focusing on drainage cleaning, waterlogging solutions, and readiness to mitigate potential disruptions. He also reviewed the status of electricity supply and water distribution systems, emphasizing the need for uninterrupted services to the public during the monsoon season.
Discussions also covered critical issues including:
Solid Waste Management and Public Awareness Campaigns for proper garbage treatment
Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) development and maintenance
Effective collection of rent, taxes, and municipal fees
Road infrastructure improvement and repair work
The Chief Minister reiterated the Government of Goa’s firm commitment to strengthening local self-governance institutions by extending all necessary support to improve administration and enhance public services.
This meeting marks another step in ensuring efficient urban management and better quality of life for the citizens of Mapusa.
