IAS Officers Inducted from State Civil Services Call on President Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi : Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, recently inducted from the State Civil Services and currently attending the 127th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), called on the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

Addressing the officers, President Murmu acknowledged their grassroots-level contributions during their tenure in the State Civil Services. She emphasized that their new role in the All India Services would come with expanded responsibilities, aligning their work with national governance standards.

“You are no longer just regional administrators,” the President said, “Your efforts must now reflect the broader vision of Viksit Bharat—a developed India by 2047.”

Highlighting the importance of inclusive development, President Murmu urged the officers to ensure that the marginalized and weaker sections of society are not left behind. She remarked that true national progress can only be achieved when every citizen, especially the poor and underprivileged, experiences growth and prosperity.

The President also stressed the transformative potential of technology and innovation in governance. She encouraged officers to leverage digital tools, artificial intelligence, e-governance platforms, and citizen feedback mechanisms to enhance transparency, efficiency, and last-mile delivery of public services.

However, she also reminded them of the core values of the Indian Administrative Service—integrity, transparency, accountability, empathy, and fairness. “Exercise your authority with compassion and impartiality,” she advised, urging them to remain grounded in service to the nation.

The interaction marked an important milestone for the newly inducted officers as they prepare to take on their roles in the country’s top administrative service.
