CM Pramod Sawant Inaugurates Regional Rural Workshop on PMAY-G in Goa
Panaji | Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today inaugurated the Regional Rural Workshop under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) in Panaji, Goa. The event was held in the esteemed presence of Union Minister of State for Rural Development & Communication Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Goa’s Minister for Rural Development, Sports & Culture Shri Govind Gaude, MLAs Shri Premendra Shet and Shri Anton Vaz, along with senior secretaries and officials from across states.
Welcoming delegates from across the region, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the workshop, stating that it marks “a significant step towards ensuring ‘Housing for All’ and transforming the face of rural India.”
Goa continues to be a frontrunner in rural development initiatives, having achieved 100% implementation in key flagship schemes, and is on track to become the first state to submit an eco-sensitive housing plan—a pioneering move towards sustainable development.
Dr. Sawant highlighted the success of schemes like PMAY-G and Atal Asra Yojana, under which thousands of rural families in Goa have been empowered with dignity, security, and opportunity through quality housing.
“Together, let’s build sustainable and inclusive futures for our rural communities,” the Chief Minister urged, underlining Goa’s commitment to the national vision of a developed, equitable, and eco-conscious rural India.
The workshop aims to foster knowledge sharing and strengthen collaborative efforts among states for the effective implementation of rural housing and development programs.
