Minister Rane Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Commercial Complex at Mapusa Municipal Garage
Mapusa : In a major step towards boosting urban infrastructure and commercial vibrancy in North Goa, Hon’ble Minister for Town and Country Planning Shri Vishwajeet Rane today unveiled the newly constructed Commercial Complex at the site of the Mapusa Municipal Garage.
Strategically located in the heart of Mapusa, the state-of-the-art structure is poised to enhance local commerce and ease of access for citizens. The complex features a Basement + 7 floors, thoughtfully designed to support business and civic needs. The basement level is dedicated entirely to parking, addressing a critical urban necessity. The ground and first floors host a total of 21 commercial shops, while the second to sixth floors comprise 60 well-planned office spaces, each outfitted with individual or shared toilet facilities and supported by adequate parking provisions.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Rane emphasized the government’s commitment to building modern, citizen-centric urban infrastructure that promotes economic opportunity and improves the quality of life for all Goans. “This complex will not only provide a vibrant business ecosystem for local entrepreneurs but also mark a leap forward in our urban development efforts,” he said.
Joining the Minister at the event were Shri Joshua Peter De Souza, MLA of Mapusa and Deputy Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly; Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, MLA of Aldona; Smt. Priya V. Mishal, Chairperson of the Mapusa Municipal Council; Shri Prakash V. Bhivshet, Vice Chairperson; Shri Brijesh D. Manerkar, Director of Urban Development; Shri Ankush Gaonkar, Chief Project Officer and Member Secretary, GSUDA; Shri Chandrakant B. Shetkar, Chief Officer of the Mapusa Municipal Council; Shri Hussain Shah Muzawar, Senior Project Engineer, GSUDA; and all councillors of the Mapusa Municipal Council.
This newly unveiled complex stands as a symbol of the government’s broader vision to transform Goa’s urban spaces with forward-looking, inclusive, and growth-oriented infrastructure.
