Goa Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane Reviews TB Elimination Strategy Aligned with PM’s Vision of “TB Haarega, Bharat Jeetega”
Panaji : In alignment with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of Hon’ble Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Shri J.P. Nadda, Goa Health Minister Shri Vishwajeet Rane reiterated the state’s unwavering commitment to making Goa TB Mukt (TB-free) and contributing to the national mission of “TB Haarega, Bharat Jeetega.”
Minister Rane chaired a high-level review meeting today to assess the state’s preparedness and define strategic action points for the elimination of tuberculosis in Goa. The meeting was attended by key health officials and experts, including Dr. Rupa Naik (Director, Directorate of Health Services), Dr. Uday Kakodkar (Head, Department of Respiratory Medicine), Dr. Manish Gaunekar (State TB Officer, National TB Elimination Programme), Dr. Ida Ataide Noronha (Dean, Dental College), and advisors to the Health Minister, Dr. Geeta Kakodkar and Ms. Frazella De Araujo, along with officials from the Directorate of Health Services.
The detailed discussions focused on enhancing early screening and detection, improving access to comprehensive treatment, and strengthening inter-departmental coordination. Emphasis was placed on leveraging existing healthcare infrastructure and community outreach to ensure the effective implementation of TB elimination strategies across the state.
“Our collective efforts are strongly aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, aiming to provide Health for All through an inclusive and efficient healthcare delivery system,” Minister Rane said. “We are committed to accelerating Goa’s progress in TB elimination by reinforcing a proactive, people-centric approach.”
The state government reaffirmed its resolve to work in close coordination with central agencies and healthcare stakeholders to ensure Goa sets an example in eradicating tuberculosis and building a healthier future for all.
