Massive Steam Generators Arrive at Kaiga Units 5 & 6; Precision Unloading Completed in Record Time

In a significant milestone for the Kaiga Atomic Power Project, two Steam Generators (SGs) meant for Units 5 and 6 have successfully reached the Kaiga site. Each SG, weighing an impressive 225 metric tonnes and stretching 24 meters in length, was transported from Hazira, Gujarat; marking a feat of meticulous logistical planning and execution.

The unloading process, carried out with exceptional precision, involved the use of two 400 MT capacity heavy-duty cranes. The Kaiga Project Team orchestrated the entire operation with outstanding professionalism and safety focus.

Preparations included the construction of a miniature high-load concrete platform, comprehensive route surveys, detailed hazard analysis, and rigorous load testing of the cranes. Thanks to this careful planning and seamless coordination, the entire unloading process was completed in just four hours, a testament to the team’s dedication to safety, engineering excellence, and operational efficiency.

This achievement not only marks a critical step forward in the commissioning of Kaiga Units 5 & 6 but also underscores the unmatched capabilities of the project team in handling large-scale infrastructure components.
