CM Pramod Sawant Launches AI-Powered Tools for Smart Policing in Goa
Panaji : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today launched two cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence-based tools developed to enhance cyber surveillance and policing efficiency in the state of Goa. The tools ; ‘Radical Content Analyzer’ and ‘Spot The Scam’ ; have been jointly developed by the Goa Police in collaboration with BITS Pilani, KK Birla Goa Campus.
The ‘Radical Content Analyzer’ is designed to scan and analyze video content to detect radical or extremist elements, potentially aiding in the early identification and prevention of extremist propaganda. The ‘Spot The Scam’ tool, on the other hand, is aimed at analyzing websites and APK files to identify scams, phishing attempts, and potential cybersecurity threats.
The launch event took place in the presence of senior police officials including the DGP, IGP, DIG, SP North Goa, as well as the Director of BITS Pilani Goa Campus and faculty members involved in the project.
CM Sawant lauded the initiative and congratulated the students and faculty members from BITS Pilani who played a pivotal role in developing these AI-powered systems. “These innovative tools will significantly contribute to smart policing in Goa and bolster our capabilities to tackle cybercrime and extremist threats,” he stated.
The initiative reflects Goa’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into governance and public safety, positioning the state as a frontrunner in adopting AI for law enforcement in India.
