Citizens Urged to Report Errors in Electoral Roll: CEO Goa Appeals for Vigilance
Panaji : The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Goa has urged citizens to actively participate in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the state’s Electoral Roll. This comes in the wake of reports that some individuals who are not ordinarily residents of Goa may have been erroneously included in the roll.
Concerned citizens and vigilant voters are encouraged to assist Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by filing Form 7 (Application for Deletion of Name) in cases where names have been wrongly entered. The submission of this form initiates a review process by the electoral authorities, allowing for the correction or deletion of ineligible entries as per the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India.
In addition to deletions, citizens may also file objections or claims related to any other inaccuracies observed in the Electoral Roll.
The CEO’s office has reiterated its unwavering commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. “We are fully dedicated to preserving the sanctity of the Electoral Roll and welcome citizen participation in this process,” the CEO stated.
