Calangute : In a determined push to revive and strengthen the region’s agricultural economy, MLA Michael Lobo has called upon citizens to embrace farming as a viable and sustainable livelihood. Speaking at a Seed Distribution Program organized at the Community Centre Hall near Bodko Vodd, Lobo urged the youth and community members to view agriculture not just as tradition, but as the foundation of a prosperous future.
Themed “Planting Today, For Calangute’s Tomorrow,” the event marked a significant step towards promoting sustainable farming practices and increasing agricultural productivity. The initiative, spearheaded by the Village Panchayat of Calangute in collaboration with MLA Michael Lobo, aimed to empower local farmers with quality seeds and essential resources.
“Our goal is to empower local farmers with the resources they need to thrive,” said Shri Michael Lobo. “This seed distribution program is a step towards ensuring food security, economic stability, and long-term prosperity for Calangute’s agricultural community.”
Echoing this vision, Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira emphasized the Panchayat’s commitment to revitalizing the agricultural sector. “We are proud to support this initiative. The Panchayat is fully aligned with MLA Lobo’s vision of making agriculture a cornerstone of our local economy,” he said.
