Combined Graduation Parade Held at Air Force Academy, Dundigal
Hyderabad : In a grand ceremony marked by military precision and national pride, the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) was held today at the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigal, Hyderabad, celebrating the commissioning of 254 Flight Cadets into the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), presided over the event as the Reviewing Officer (RO). He conferred the President’s Commission to the graduating cadets of both Flying and Ground Duty branches, which included both men and women. The ceremony also saw participation of 09 officers from the Indian Navy, 07 from the Indian Coast Guard, and one foreign trainee, who were awarded flying ‘Wings’ upon successful completion of training.
The Reviewing Officer was ceremonially received by Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, and Air Marshal PK Vohra, Commandant of the Academy. A General Salute followed by a spectacular march-past commenced the event.
Highlights of the event included:
The grand Commissioning Ceremony, where cadets took an oath to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.
Aerial displays by the Akash Ganga skydiving team, the Air Warrior Drill Team, and Suryakiran Aerobatic Team.
Fly-pasts by aircraft including the Pilatus PC-7 MkII, Hawk, Kiran Mk-1, and Chetak helicopters.
Award Winners:
Flying Officer Rohan Krishnamurti (Flying Branch) was awarded the President’s Plaque and Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour for standing first in the overall order of merit in the pilots’ course.
Flying Officer Nishtha Vaid (Ground Duty Branches) received the President’s Plaque for securing the top position in her category.
