ICC Announces Schedule for 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka

New Delhi : The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially released the schedule for the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.

India will take on Sri Lanka in the high-profile tournament opener in Bengaluru, while defending champions Australia begin their campaign against New Zealand in Indore on October 1.

The eight-team tournament will follow a single round-robin format, with matches scheduled across five cities: Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo. The top four teams from the league stage will qualify for the semi-finals — one to be held in Bengaluru, and the other in either Colombo or Guwahati. The final is set for November 2, in either Bengaluru or Colombo, with the venue to be confirmed later.

Each team will play two warm-up matches before the tournament. Team India will face England on September 24 in Bengaluru, followed by a match against South Africa in Guwahati on September 27.

The eight qualified teams include:

India (host)

Sri Lanka (co-host)

Australia

England

New Zealand

South Africa

Pakistan

Bangladesh

Australia, who clinched a record seventh title in 2022, topped the ICC Women’s Championship standings to qualify directly, along with England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and India. Pakistan and Bangladesh booked their places through the qualifying tournament held in April 2025.
