Defence Cyber Agency Launches ‘Cyber Suraksha’ to Strengthen National Cyber Resilience
New Delhi : The Defence Cyber Agency, operating under the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, has launched a high-impact cybersecurity exercise titled ‘Cyber Suraksha’, aimed at bolstering the nation’s cyber defence capabilities. The exercise commenced on June 16 and will continue until June 27.
‘Cyber Suraksha’ is a multi-phased, large-scale initiative designed to simulate real-world cyber threats and test the response strategies of over 100 participants from various national-level defence agencies and stakeholders. Conducted in a dynamic, gamified environment, the exercise merges structured training modules with hands-on challenge scenarios, sharpening both analytical and operational cyber defence skills.
A highlight of the initiative is the Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) Conclave, which aims to bridge the strategic and technical dimensions of cybersecurity. The conclave will feature interactive discussions led by eminent experts in the field and will culminate with an immersive Table-Top Exercise, focusing on strategic readiness and decision-making under cyber crisis scenarios.
The Defence Cyber Agency emphasized that ‘Cyber Suraksha’ represents a proactive step toward creating a security-first culture and enhancing cyber vigilance across all echelons of the national defence infrastructure. The agency plans to institutionalize such exercises as regular events to ensure sustained preparedness and strengthen collaborative cyber defence in India’s evolving digital landscape.
