Chief Minister Inaugurates and Flags Off School Buses Funded by North Goa District Mineral Foundation
Sankhali : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today inaugurated and flagged off a fleet of school buses funded by the North Goa District Mineral Foundation (Trust) at a special event held at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali. The initiative aims to enhance school transportation facilities for students in mining-affected areas.
Present on the occasion were Bicholim MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, North Goa Collector Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, Director of Education Shri Shailesh Zingde, Chairperson of Sankhali Municipal Council Smt. Siddhi Porob, and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to utilizing DMF funds for community welfare, especially in sectors like education and transport. He emphasized that safe and reliable transportation is key to ensuring better attendance and academic performance among students.
The newly inaugurated buses will cater to various schools across North Goa, providing a safe commute for hundreds of children. The initiative is part of the state’s broader goal to improve infrastructure in rural and mining-affected regions.
The event concluded with a ceremonial flag-off of the buses, marking another step forward in the state’s efforts to strengthen its educational ecosystem.
