Goa Pays Homage to Freedom Fighters on Goa Revolution Day at Azad Maidan
Panaji : On the solemn occasion of Goa Revolution Day, the Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, led the State in paying homage to the martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial at Azad Maidan, Panaji. The commemorative event honored the valiant heroes who played a pivotal role in Goa’s liberation movement.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant had the honor of laying a wreath alongside the Governor, remembering the brave souls whose sacrifices laid the foundation of a free and progressive Goa. The tribute ceremony was attended by Cabinet Ministers, freedom fighters, and several distinguished dignitaries.
Present on the occasion were WRD Minister Shri Subhash Shirodkar, Power Minister Shri Sudin Dhavalikar, Leader of Opposition Shri Yuri Alemao, Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, President of the Goa Daman and Diu Freedom Fighters Association Shri Rohidas Ragunath Naik Desai, and other senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of the freedom fighters by working collectively towards building a prosperous and inclusive Goa.
The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit that defines Goa’s rich historical journey toward liberation.
