ECI Launches New SOP for 15-Day EPIC Delivery
In a citizen-centric move, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) are delivered within 15 days of new enrolment or update. Under Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, the initiative aims to enhance efficiency and transparency.
The process will be tracked in real time through the ECINet platform, with electors receiving SMS updates at each stage. Integration with the Department of Posts’ API enables faster, more secure delivery.
