Two Senior Maoist Leaders Surrender in Chhattisgarh, Major Blow to LWE Movement

In a major breakthrough for anti-Naxal operations, two senior Maoist leaders, including the head of the Mobile Political School (MOPOS), surrendered to security forces in Chhattisgarh’s MMAC district on Monday.

Jeevan Tulavi (45), alias Ram Tulavi, a Divisional Committee Member and education wing commander, and his wife Agasha (35), alias Aarti Korram, an Area Committee Member and cultural wing commander, laid down arms before senior police and ITBP officials.

Active for over two decades, the couple played key ideological and propaganda roles in the Maad Division. Jeevan carried a ₹8 lakh bounty, while Agasha led digital and cultural propaganda.

Officials hailed the surrender as a significant setback to Maoist influence in the region, noting five senior surrenders in the last three months.
