FARMERS URGED TO LINK AADHAAR SEEDED BANK DETAILS WITH KRISHI CARD

Panaji : The Department of Agriculture has appealed to all farmers across Goa to ensure that their Aadhaar-seeded bank account details are linked with their Krishi Cards. To facilitate this, farmers are required to submit a duly filled mandate form in the prescribed format, along with a copy of their bank passbook or a cancelled cheque, to the respective Zonal Agriculture Offices.

This move comes in light of a directive from the Government mandating that all disbursements under state sector agricultural schemes be carried out solely through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB) System.

The APB system allows for seamless and direct transfer of government subsidies and benefits into beneficiaries’ bank accounts using Aadhaar as the unique identifier. It is therefore crucial for every farmer to seed their bank account with their Aadhaar number by submitting a consent/application form to their bank.

Importantly, only the most recently Aadhaar-seeded bank account will be eligible to receive government benefits. If a farmer updates their Aadhaar seeding with a different bank account in the future, the subsidy will be credited to that latest account. In such cases, farmers must promptly inform their respective Zonal Agriculture Offices, who will then update the details in the Krishi Card database accordingly.

The Agriculture Department has urged all beneficiaries to comply with these requirements at the earliest to avoid any disruption in receiving government subsidies and support.
