Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s aim to neutralize Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities as direct hostilities with Iran entered day seven. He condemned Iran’s missile strike on Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, calling it a breach of international humanitarian law.
Iran’s IRGC claimed the hospital wasn’t the intended target, stating military infrastructure nearby was aimed at. In a major escalation, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared the elimination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei a strategic objective.
Amid intensified attacks, Iran has deployed advanced multi-warhead missiles and repositioned launch units inland. Former U.S. President Donald Trump remained non-committal on U.S. support. Khamenei warned of “severe consequences” if the U.S. intervenes.
The UN expressed alarm over civilian casualties, urging restraint. Meanwhile, 24 Muslim-majority nations led by the OIC condemned Israeli strikes and called for a ceasefire to avoid a broader regional war.
