PM Modi Unveils Major Development Initiatives in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a recent visit to Odisha, announced several key initiatives including the launch of Kisan Credit Card benefits under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana and a ₹25,000 crore fund to support coastal communities and youth entrepreneurship.
Highlighting the “Purvoday” vision, he stressed Eastern India’s role in driving 21st-century growth, citing mega infrastructure projects like the Paradip dual-feed cracker unit and the Gopalpur LNG terminal. Nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore has already been invested to develop Odisha as a petrochemical hub.
Modi also launched “Vision 2036” to mark 100 years of Odisha as India’s first linguistic state and “Vision 2047” for India’s centenary of independence. New train connectivity for Boudh, 100 electric buses under CRUT, and the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ were also unveiled.
Over 16.5 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” were honored as symbols of women’s empowerment. The event saw participation from Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, CM Mohan Charan Majhi, and Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan.
