Goa CM Highlights Startup Push at Innovation Challenge & Market Access Expo 2025

Panaji : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant reaffirmed Goa’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship while addressing the Goa Open Innovation Challenge 2025 and Market Access Expo in Panaji today. The event, organized in the presence of IT Minister Shri Rohan Khaunte, brought together over 100 startups and young innovators from across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister credited Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visionary initiatives such as #StartupIndia and #DigitalIndia for empowering India’s youth with the confidence to “build, create and lead.” He noted that the world is now closely watching the innovation energy emerging from India.
Dr. Sawant interacted with startups working on practical solutions across key sectors including tourism, agriculture, waste management, robotics, and AI. He emphasized that Goa is not just adapting to change but is ready to lead India’s innovation wave.
Highlighting government support, he mentioned various state initiatives such as:
Startup assistance of ₹10 lakh
Salary support of ₹15,000 per employee
Robotics and coding training programs
Incubation and mentoring via institutions like EDII (Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India)
“These platforms are not just programs they represent our shared vision for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India),” said the Chief Minister. “Goa is not waiting for change ; we are creating it. Start here, and grow across India.”
The expo served as a platform for networking, collaboration, and market linkage, with participation from industry leaders, government officials, and academia. It underscored Goa’s strategic role as a rising innovation hub aligned with national growth objectives.
