Bhola Ghadi Appointed President of Bardez Taluka Bhandari Samaj Committee

Mapusa : Bhola Ghadi has been appointed as the President of the Bardez Taluka Gomantak Bhandari Samaj Committee by a majority vote. Mahesh Shirgaonkar has been elected as the General Secretary, and Yashwant Kandolkar as the Treasurer. The new executive committee was elected unanimously at a special meeting held at the Shri Ghaateshwar Devasthan Hall in Khorlim, Mapusa.

Present on the occasion were Central Committee President Upendra Gaonkar, General Secretary Hanumant Naik, Spokesperson Sanjeev Naik, Secretary Umesh Naik, Central Committee Member Gorakhnath Kerkar, Vice President and Convenor of the meeting Sandeep Vernekar, Advisory Committee Chairman Rohidas Naik, Councillor Dr. Tarak Arolkar, Advisors Amrit Agarwadekar and Kashinath Mayekar, among other dignitaries.

Other office-bearers elected are as follows:

Vice Presidents: Pravin Asolkar, Ashok Govekar, Sagar Salgaonkar, Siddharth Mayekar, Harish Mayekar, Sada Divkar, Dinesh Morzarkar, Janardan Tamhanakar, Chandan Mandrekar, Vidyadhar Bhagat, Ulhas Salgaonkar, Ramdas Kanolkar, Sanjay Gadekar, Anil Pednekar, Rajesh Savaykar.

Joint Secretaries: Uday Jalmi, Sameer Gadekar, Dinesh Simepurushkar, Vasudev Agarwadekar, Gurudas Mandrekar, Navnath Naik, Sagun Vernekar, Ravin Bugde.

Joint Treasurer: Ajay Salgaonkar.

Several other members and advisors have also been appointed to the executive and advisory panels.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding conducting a detailed survey and headcount of the Bhandari community across Bardez taluka. Newly elected President Bhola Ghadi stated that village-level committees would be formed in constituencies like Mapusa, Thivim, Aldona, Porvorim, Siolim, Saligao, and Calangute to carry out the census ward-wise in a swift and organized manner.

Central Committee President Upendra Gaonkar said, “We are committed to empowering the Bhandari community politically, socially, educationally, and economically.”

Dr. Tarak Arolkar warned that those who attempt to hijack the central committee without elections will face legal consequences.

The program began with an introductory speech by General Secretary Hanumant Naik. Guests were felicitated with floral tributes by Swani Shirgaonkar, Amey Korgaonkar, and Vicky Nagade. The event was compered by Sameer Gadekar, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Bhola Ghadi.

A large number of community members were present for this meeting.
