6th All India GRP Chiefs’ Conference Charts Unified Crime Control Strategy on Railways
New Delhi : The 6th All India Conference of Government Railway Police (GRP) Chiefs, organised under the aegis of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), concluded in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, reaffirming a unified national strategy for crime control on Indian Railways.
Presided over by DG RPF Shri Manoj Yadava, the conference saw participation from GRP DGPs, ADGPs, and senior officers from across states and UTs, along with Railway Ministry officials.
Key focus areas included:
Enhanced passenger safety through intelligence sharing and coordinated inter-state operations
Seamless FIR registration via the Rail Madad portal for theft complaints
Women’s safety through CCTV surveillance, targeted patrolling, and Meri Saheli deployment
Curbing drug trafficking and smuggling on railway premises
Child safety, with emphasis on rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked minors
Technology integration, including use of facial recognition systems and vulnerability assessments of sensitive railway zones
DG RPF emphasized joint action by RPF-GRP units to make railway travel safer and to create a zero-tolerance zone for crime across the Indian Railways network.
