Shri Ajit Kadkade Conferred with ‘Gomant Vibhushan’, Goa’s Highest Civilian Honour
Panaji : In a proud moment for every Goan, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant presented the prestigious ‘Gomant Vibhushan’ to Shri Ajit Kadkade, an iconic figure in Indian classical and devotional music, whose voice has carried the essence of Goa to global audiences.
Hailing from Bicholim, Shri Kadkade has spent over four decades enriching the world of music with his profound contributions to Indian Classical, Bhakti Sangeet, Natyageet, and Abhangs. Trained under the legendary Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, Kadkade’s musical mastery flows effortlessly through Konkani, Marathi, Hindi, and Kannada, showcasing a rare blend of tradition and versatility.
With a discography of nearly 200 albums and live performances spanning India, Europe, the United States, and the Gulf, Shri Kadkade is not just an accomplished vocalist, but a cultural ambassador whose artistry continues to inspire generations.

The ‘Gomant Vibhushan’, Goa’s highest civilian honour, is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the state and its cultural heritage. With this recognition, Shri Kadkade joins a distinguished league of personalities who have left an indelible mark on Goa’s identity.
