Civilian Access Restored to Religious Sites and Residences in Vasco After MLA Krishna Daji Salkar’s Intervention

Vasco : In a major relief to the residents and devotees in Vasco, MLA Krishna Daji Salkar announced the successful resolution of two key access issues that had caused concern in the community.

The first issue pertained to restricted civilian access to the Ram Mandir, Kali Mandir, and the Syrian Orthodox Church due to Naval security protocols. The second involved the access road to the SD Zanita Heights building and other independent residences, which was also affected.

MLA Salkar took up the matter with the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, who promptly intervened. In a significant development, the Chief Minister directed the Flag Officer Goa Area (FOGA) to take immediate action. He also assured that the Navy would be provided alternate land to ease the situation, ensuring that devotees can continue to park their vehicles and visit these important religious sites without hindrance.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Flag Officer Goa Area, and BJP Goa President Shri Damu Naik for their understanding, cooperation, and respect for the sentiments of the local community,” said MLA Salkar.

The swift and effective coordination between civilian authorities and the Indian Navy has been appreciated by the affected residents and devotees alike, as a balanced and respectful resolution was reached to uphold both security and civilian rights.
