Ajit Doval Urges SCO Nations to Act Decisively Against Terrorism

Beijing : National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Tuesday urged member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to reject double standards in the global fight against terrorism and take firm action against UN-designated terror groups.

Speaking at the 20th SCO Security Council Secretaries’ meeting in Beijing, Doval expressed India’s deep concern over terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, which operate from Pakistan with state support, as well as global terror groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS.

Referring to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, and India’s subsequent Operation Sindoor, Doval highlighted India’s restrained but firm response focused on preventing further attacks and ensuring justice.

“Any act of terrorism, including cross-border terror, is a crime against humanity,” he told delegates. He called for collective action to hold perpetrators, sponsors, and financiers accountable and to dismantle the global terror ecosystem.

Reaffirming India’s civilizational ties with SCO nations, Doval reiterated India’s commitment to the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam the world as one family. He also thanked member states for supporting India’s proposals on joint counter-terrorism efforts and fighting radicalisation and extremist propaganda.
