BJP Inaugurates Exhibition Marking 50 Years of Emergency at North Goa Office
Mapusa : An exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the imposition of the Emergency in 1975 was inaugurated today at the North Goa BJP office in Mapusa. The event was inaugurated by BJP National General Secretary Shri Arun Singh and State President Shri Damu Naik.
Present on the occasion were Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Mapusa MLA Shri Joshua DeSouza, and other senior party leaders.
The exhibition aims to shed light on the dark chapter of Indian democracy when civil liberties were curtailed, voices were stifled, and the nation endured 21 months of authoritarian rule under the Congress regime. The display includes photographs, documents, and testimonials highlighting the struggle of democracy-loving citizens during that period.
Speaking at the event, leaders emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by those who fought against the Emergency and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to upholding democratic values and constitutional principles.
