Free Student Bus Service Flagged Off on Bicholim–Mulgao–Advalpal Route

Bicholim : Marking a significant step towards improving access to education, a new Free Student Bus Service on the Bicholim–Mulgao–Advalpal route was launched with a ceremonial flag-off at Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Circle, Bicholim. The initiative, spearheaded by MLA Chandrakant Shete, aims to ease the daily commute for school and higher secondary students across the region.

The service has been made possible through the generous support of the District Mineral Foundation, Goa, which has played a key role in enhancing transport accessibility for students. The move is expected to make commutes safer, more reliable, and affordable, especially for families in rural pockets.

The flag-off ceremony witnessed strong community participation and was attended by several dignitaries who lauded the effort. Among them were Chairperson Shri Vijaykumar Natekar, Vice Chairperson Smt Deepa Pal, Councillor Shri Aniket Chanekar, Advalpal Sarpanch Smt Subatta Samant, Dy. Sarpanch Vineshri Gaonkar, Mulgao Sarpanch Smt Mansi Kauthankar, Dy. Sarpanch Shri Gajanan Mandrekar, Panch Smt Trupti Gad, Shri Madhukar Halarnkar, BJP Mandal President Dr Kaustubh Patnekar, and Shri Roque Louis, GM of KTCL. Also present were Shri Vijay Sardesai, Shri Raju Dhond, and Shri Sadashiv Warde Walaulekar, whose presence added pride and significance to the occasion.

MLA Shete emphasized that the initiative reflects a larger vision of empowering the youth through education and expressed his gratitude to the District Mineral Foundation and all stakeholders for their continuous support.
